Current utility practices consider two Flex-IX approaches: Scheduled Interconnection, which uses an edge device as a schedule enforcer, and Dynamic Interconnection, that uses centralized DERMS software.

This webinar introduces a third method – Distributed DERMS (DERCOM) – invented by GridEdge in collaboration with Avangrid and funded by NYSERDA. In this webinar, GridEdge provided an overview of the DERCOM technology, comparison with Scheduled and Centralized DERMS, and deployment guidelines. GridEdge also shared lessons learned from a recent field installation in downstate NY and answered questions.

The objective of the webinar was to inform industry stakeholders and receive feedback on how Distributed DERMS (DERCOM) can best benefit future DER projects in Mew York.
